Each pointing consists of 3 orbits of data acquisition, with primary imaging in WFC3/UVIS F275W and parallel imaging in ACS/WFC F435W. Whenever possible, the 3 orbits for an individual pointing are obtained in a single visit. In a few cases, pointings have to be broken into two visits (2 orbits + 1 orbit) to ensure guide star acquistion. For more scheduling information, see the HST Visit Information page.
